On 18 July, a Traffic Management Roadshow took place in Lisbon (Portugal), hosted by Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP). The event aimed to present ongoing RNE traffic and train performance management projects, including their current status, future development, and benefits for IP.
RNE presented several initiatives, including:
- European Traffic Management Network (ETMN) concept
- Railway Collaborative Decision Making (R-CDM) concept
- Language Programme
- Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) Programme
- International Contingency Management
- TIS functions and IP user possibilities and data exchange
- TIS Data Quality
- Train Performance Management
The IP delegation, comprising representatives from Traffic Management and Capacity Management, was led by Luísa Garcia (Director of the Traffic Management and Capacity Management Department) and included João Silva (IT Department and IP TIS admin) and Rita Veiga (Railways Business Department and RFC Atlantic Deputy Director). The delegation covered the most relevant areas related to Traffic Management. This facilitated an active exchange of ideas and valuable proposals, enhancing the focus on operational needs. The visit to the National Traffic Control Centre and subsequent discussions advanced the ETM Network concept’s implementation tasks.
Both IP and RNE agreed on increased participation of IP representatives in ongoing projects, marking a significant step forward in collaborative efforts.
