Based on the principles defined in the Capacity Strategies, the IMs continue in the consolidation of all known and expected capacity volumes. The results of this work are visualised in the Capacity Models. The aim of the Capacity Models is to show, harmonise and discuss more in detail the expected volume of capacity assigned to each market segment (commercial needs) and TCRs. Consequently, the Capacity Model consists of two parts:
- Traffic part - 24-hour overview reflecting market needs
- TCR part - overview of the capacity needed for TCRs
The Capacity Models are published 1.5 years prior to the timetable change in the European Capacity Management Tool (ECMT). The first timetable period covered by Capacity Models is timetable 2025 (i.e. publication in June 2023).
RNE and its members define common timelines for advance capacity planning (ACP) purposes. The ACP calendar lays down the relevant milestones for the publication of draft and final Capacity Models for the upcoming Timetable periods. In addition, the deadlines for submitting Capacity Needs Announcements are also set in the agreed ACP calendars.
