On 27 May 2025, the RNE General Assembly met in Krakow, Poland, to find agreement and discuss key topics with a primary focus on the Association’s next steps to become the Network Coordinator. Central to the discussions was an update on the Network Coordinator project, including preparations for the European Frameworks on Capacity and Traffic Management, as well as initial considerations related to Performance Review and stakeholder involvement.
The General Assembly also approved the 2024 Financial Closure as well as the Budget 2026 and endorsed the new RNE Managing Board. Reflecting an inclusive approach that ensures broad European representation and expertise, the Managing Board now consists of twelve members. Their primary focus will be guiding the Association through the transition phase over the next two years as it moves toward its role as the Network Coordinator.
Overall, the guiding theme of this Assembly was a clear call for mobilisation at both the European and central levels—aimed at delivering on the evolving needs of the European railway sector.
We would like to cordially thank our Member, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., for hosting this General Assembly.
