The recent RNE General Assembly on 16 May 2024 in Riga was significantly influenced by extensive discussions focused on RNE projects and advancements in its working areas, particularly in the light of the ongoing developments regarding the draft Capacity Regulation.
Additionally, a notable highlight included the opening speech by Mr. Rinalds Pļavnieks, CEO of Latvian Railway.
Furthermore, we express our gratitude to Kristian Schmidt from the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport at DG MOVE for his valuable contribution to the participants via video message:
“RNE is expected to play a crucial role as “Network Coordinator” under the future regulation on capacity management, and you need to prepare for that. […]
Because rail is vital to the European Green Deal, and because we urgently need to expand and improve the rail offer – for both passenger and freight.”
RNE extends its sincere thanks to all participants of the GA for the fruitful cooperation, and particularly to our host for the warm welcome in Riga.
