RNE Expert Group Meetings hosted by Infraestruturas de Portugal

RNE Performance Management Group and TIS Data Quality Expert Group

On 17  and 18 July, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) hosted a dynamic two-day event in Lisbon, bringing together representatives from the RNE Performance Management Group and the RNE TIS Data Quality Expert Group for productive meetings.

In-depth Discussions and a Visit to the Lisbon Operational Control Centre

The first day kicked off with the Performance Management Group meeting, dealing with actual performance management activities and especially diving into the implications of the EU TEN-T regulation on train performance indicators. The discussions centered on strategies for compliance with the regulation and managing outliers that could impact the accuracy of RNE reports while maintaining backwards compatibility.

A special standout moment was the visit to the Lisbon Operational Control Centre. Luísa Garcia, Director of Traffic Management and Capacity Management at IP, provided an insightful tour, presenting the key systems and workflows used by IP. This visit sparked a fruitful exchange of ideas among attendees.

Data Quality Strategy Assessment and a Roadshow

On the second day, the Data Quality Expert Group meeting marked a significant milestone as it was the first assessment moment since the DQ Process of TIS Data Quality Strategy was implemented. The group evaluated the progress of the process, assessed whether the January targets were met, and set new targets for the upcoming six months.

Additionally, the RNE/IP Traffic Management Roadshow took place, where the RNE team presented their ongoing traffic and train performance management projects to IP representatives, highlighting key advancements and plans.

The event was a great success with high engagement and valuable discussions, reflecting a strong commitment to improving performance and data quality across the network.
