European Traffic Management Network

National Traffic Control Centres (NTCCs) Cooperation Platform

The National Traffic Control Centres (NTCCs) Cooperation Platform is the key forum for strengthening collaboration between National Traffic Control Centres of Infrastructure Managers (IMs) across Europe.

It aims to enhance coordination and improve cross-border operations in traffic management through regular exchange and joint initiatives.

Organisation and Objectives

The NTCC Cooperation Platform is led by RNE and operates under the framework of the European Traffic Management Network (ETMN) concept, whose overarching goal is to support traffic management across Europe.

Within this ETM Network concept, the NTCC Platform contributes by systematically fostering:

  • improved coordination and mutual relations on NTCCs in European traffic management, and
  • development of harmonised procedures and rules for traffic control across borders.

Activities to Strengthen Cooperation

The Platform enables IMs’ NTCC representatives to cooperate more closely through:

  • in-person meetings,
  • regular exchange throughout the year via workshops, joint projects, and online communication channels.

Sharing experiences and best practices is key to improving operational coordination across various topics, such as:

  • operational process management,
  • staff training,
  • workplace organisation,
  • safety assurance and,
  • adoption of technological innovations, including AI-based tools and other advanced solutions.

By fostering these professional and personal connections, the Platform strengthens technical cooperation and builds trust and mutual understanding among its participants.
