TTR at the Third Rail Freight Day
The presentation of the RailNetEurope and Forum Train Europe joint project “Redesign of the International Timetabling Process – TTR” was one of the main topics of the Rail Freight Day 2016 in Palais Ferstel, Vienna, which took place on 9 December 2016.
After a short introductory presentation by Philipp Koiser, TTR Project Manager, a high profile panel of industry experts discussed further developments and the challenges faced by European timetabling. To explain the complexities of the TTR project to a broader audience, an animated film about the project was shown prior to the discussion.

After the panel discussion, a lively Q&A session started. The general consensus was that TTR was one of the most important projects if we wished to increase the sector’s competiveness against other transport modes. Nevertheless, it is important for the project to start to deliver soon. Technical challenges were debated as well as the next steps in the coming year.
